Bunny Fest and June

This weekend, we took June out to the annual Bunny Fest, hosted by San Diego Rabbit Society. This is my favorite event of the year! It's the time of the year where I can meet house rabbits owners around San Diego and most of us would take our bunnies with us!! This year was especially exciting for me because I entered 3 photos of bun buns and Hops, each to a different category, to a bunny photo contest.  The result? I won the FIRST PRIZE in the category of 'pigging out'.  Here's the winning picture:

I got a $25 certificate to HRS supply store, which will help lighten up my financial burden in feeding my 3 constantly hungry rabbits. Of course I didn't bring bun buns and Hops there.  Bun buns is not doing well (although she's doing much better now) and Hops is just constantly moody.  Wouldn't be very fun to take them out.  June on the other hand, really enjoyed the afternoon. And of course, I had to take advantage of the fact that we were out at such a beautiful setting - Heritage Park at Old Town!

I just love the reflection on her eye! You must check out the bigger version of the picture! You can see me and Daniel in her eye!!

here's Cindy and June

Daniel and June

of course little June got all thirsty after working so hard posing in front of the camera in the sun!!

Rabbits are such cool pets!! There are a ton of cute rabbits that need a loving home.  Check out the adoption page on HRS and you can come to Bunnyfest with us next year!

Daniel and I

Since I've been taking so many pictures of other people (esp couples), I really wanted some couple shots of Daniel and I.  so during our San Juan vacation, while we were walking in the parking lot the afternoon after our whale watching excursion, I 'saw' the opportunity of doing some shadow shots. I decided to tell my little brother in law what I envisioned, then proceeded to set up the camera and asked him to take them for me.  They turned out to be pretty good!! :)

I really like the texture on the concrete...and Daniel's 'big head' from the shadow.
Thanks Nat, for taking them for us!!

San Juan Islands

Last week our families (Kan + Lowe) went to San Juan Islands for our family vacation.  It's home of many killer whales and Shamu is actually from there! I wanted to go there mainly because I want to go whale watching.  We did see a whale but not a whole pod of killer whales that I hoped for.  Oh well, I guess I can see Shamu at sea world.  But overall the vacation was really relaxing!! My favorite part of the trip was sea kayaking, where we saw some dolphins and a seal chasing after a fish. :)
my mom found a great deal on the internet and we stayed at his beautiful vacation home for 3 days.

the house located near the shore and the view was simply breathtaking...

We arrived at the house during sunset, and the sun was hitting on the dandelions at the perfect angle. It was gorgeous!

and I 'made' my sister model for me....haha..

I tried to soak in all the beauty by shooting landscape around the house..

and I found a heart shaped rock on the porch...

at night we even had a camp fire right in front of the house...

under the starry sky of the great northwest

and here's a picture of a bald eagle that we spotted while we were on the whale watching tour.  Since I don't have a telephoto lens, I put my binoculars in front of my camera and shot this picture. Obviously the quality sucks, but what can i do.  We were on a boat in the sea, and this guy was on the shore.  :)

Kayaking at the great north west is a completely different experience than kayaking in California...and I love it!!

now that I've used up all of my vacation days, I have to wait until next year to take a break like this.
